(Philadelphia, PA) - The number-nine Butler Bulldogs were upset by the La Salle Explorers, 54-53 at Tom Gola Arena in Philadelphia.

Ramon Galloway drove the length of the court to make the game winning lay-in with under three seconds to play and Roosevelt Jones missed a half court shot with time expiring to give Butler their first loss in conference play.

Jones is the reigning national player of-the-week after making the game winning runner during Butler's last second victory over Gonzaga Saturday night.

Andrew Smith had 16 points and eight rebounds and Kellen Dunham had 15 points and four rebounds for Butler.

Rotnei Clark, the team's leading scorer, missed his third straight game with a strained neck but should return to action Saturday against Temple.

La Salle is 13-5 overall, 3-2 in the Atlantic Ten Conference, and travel to the number-16 Virginia Commonwealth Rams Saturday.

Butler is 16-3 overall, 3-1 in the conference, and host the Temple Owls Saturday evening at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
