Georgetown Thumps Struggling Notre Dame

(South Bend, IN) - The twenty-third ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish were defeated for the third time in four games with a 63-47 blowout loss to the Georgetown Hoyas at the Joyce Center.

The Fighting Irish offense shot 35 percent from-the-field in recording their lowest point total of the season.

Otto Porter Junior led all scorers with 19 points and nine rebounds for Georgetown.

Jerian Grant had 13 points for Notre Dame and Jack Cooley chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Georgetown is 13-4 overall, 3-3 in the Big East, and host the fifth-ranked Louisville Cardinals Saturday at Verizon Center.

Notre Dame drop to 15-4 overall, 3-3 in the conference, and travel to the South Florida Bulls Saturday afternoon.
