(Miami, FL) - The Alabama Crimson Tide captured their second consecutive national championship with a 42-14 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the BCS National Title Game at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
The Crimson Tide Built a 28-0 halftime lead and won by the second largest margin since the championship game was incepted in 1999.
Alabama produced 265 yards rushing yards to Notre Dame's 32 and held the ball sixteen and-a-half minutes longer than the Fighting Irish.
Crimson Tide Quarterback A-J McCarron delivered an equally efficient passing attack with 264 yards in the air on 20-of-28 completions.
Notre Dame's Everett Golson had 270 yards in the air, a touchdown, and an interception.
Head Coach Nick Saban and the dynastic Crimson Tide have won three championships in four seasons and finish the 2012 campaign with a 13-1 record.
Notre Dame finishes the season 12-1 and haven't won a national title since 1988.
