Arians Interested In Becoming San Diego's Head Coach

Last updated on Friday, January 11, 2013

(Indianapolis, IN) - Colts Offensive Coordinator Bruce Arians told a San Diego radio station that he’s interested in filling the head coaching vacancy with the San Diego Chargers now that a former Indianapolis colleague has been hired as general manager.

Arians said the relationship developed with Tom Telesco during his 12 weeks as interim head coach was fantastic and eluded to a mutual understanding on how to fill out a roster.

Telesco's hiring by the Chargers was made public Wednesday and ended a 15 year run with the Colts franchise, including his most recent duties as Vice President of Player Personnel in 2012.

The Chargers fired AJ Smith as general manager and Norv Turner as head coach following a 7-9 season, making room for Telesco and possibly Arians to join the Chargers with new responsibilities.

Arians will speak with the Chicago Bears about their head coaching vacancy Sunday, and could interview with the Chargers, and Philadelphia Eagles over the next week.
