(Hoover, AL) - The Indiana Hoosiers are NCAA Champions in Men's soccer again after shutting out Georgetown 1-0 in Sunday's College Cup title game in Hoover, Alabama.
Nikita Kotlov scored the lone goal of the contest when he knocked Eriq Zavaleta's header into a wide-open net past Hoyas goalkeeper Tomas Gomez in the 64th minute.
IU goalkeeper Luis Soffner was credited with two saves in recording his third-straight 1-0 win in the tournament.
Soffner was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
The Hoosiers entered the tournament as the number-16 seed and are the lowest seed to ever win the College Cup.
The championship is the eighth for the Hoosiers in men's soccer, their first under head coach Todd Yeagley.
Six of those titles came under Todd Yeagley's father Jerry.
IU's previous championship came under Mike Freitag in 2004.
