Colts Place Donald Brown On Injured Reserve

Last updated on Wednesday, December 12, 2012

(Indianapolis, IN) - Donald Brown’s season is over for the Indianapolis Colts after the fourth year running back was placed on injured reserve yesterday.

The Colts first round draft pick in 2009 injured his ankle two weeks ago against the Buffalo Bills and finished the season with 510 all-purpose yards from scrimmage.

Running back Mwelde Moore was signed to the Colts active roster after being waived by the team on October 29th.

Moore will likely backup Vick Ballard on the depth chart and was originally brought on by the Colts as an unrestricted free agent in June.

The Colts also placed fullback Robert Hughes on injured reserve and signed running back Deji Karim to the active roster.

Karim was drafted by the Jaguars in 2010 before his release after two seasons. He joined the Colts in late April of this year but was released by the team on September 10th.

The Colts also released running back Alvester Alexander from the practice squad in favor of Davin Meggett, son of former Giants running back Dave Meggett.

Davin was signed by the Houston Texans in May of this year as an undrafted free agent from the University of Maryland.

The Colts are 9-4 on the season and play their first of two games against AFC South Rival Houston Sunday.

The Texans are 11-2 after losing to the New England Patriots Monday night, 42-14.

Kickoff from Reliant Stadium is at 1:00.
