(Indianapolis, IN) The Indianapolis Colts overcame a poor first half to record a come-from-behind 27-23 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee led 20-7 at halftime, helped by Will Witherspoon's controversial 40-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Replays appeared to show Colts quarterback Andrew Luck's knee was on the turf before he threw the ball to Witherspoon.

The Colts drove 80 yards on the first possession of the third quarter with Delone Carter scoring on a one-yard run to draw the Horseshoes to within six at 20-14.

The teams exchanged punts with Pat McAfee pinning the Titans deep when his punt went out of bounds at the Tennessee one-yard line.

Titans Quarterback Jake Locker threw in the flat on the first play following the punt and Cassius Vaughn picked it off, returning it three yards for a touchdown to give Indianapolis its first lead.

Tennessee kicker Rob Bironas put the Titans back on top with a 25-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, but Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri responded with a 53-yard kick to put Indianapolis back up 24-23.

Vinatieri added a 40-yarder with 3:48 remaining to account for the final margin of victory.

With the win, the Colts solidify their position as the top Wild Card team in the AFC with their 9-4 record while Tennessee falls to 4-9.

The Colts travel to Houston to take on the division-leading Texans this Sunday.

Houston is in New England tonight to face the Patriots.
