Chuck Pagano Returns To Colts After Battling Leukemia

Last updated on Wednesday, December 26, 2012

(Indianapolis, IN) - Head Coach Chuck Pagano officially returned to the Indianapolis Colts Monday and will lead the team against the AFC South champion Houston Texans Sunday when they visit Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday.

Pagano conveyed his gratitude towards fans and team personnel in a Monday news conference and lauded Offensive Coordinator Bruce Arians for the work he did as Interim Head Coach in his absence.

Arians went 9-3 and helped the Colts secure a playoff spot while Pagano underwent treatment for Leukemia, and is considered the frontrunner for NFL Coach of the Year and will likely be courted by several teams with a head coaching vacancy.

The Colts will be hosting a Texans team with plenty to play for when the second meeting between the two division rivals commences Sunday.

The 12-3 Texans are fighting for the conference one seed and can slip all the way out of a first round bye with a loss to the Colts.

Indianapolis is 10-5 and have secured the five seed in the AFC Playoffs, and will play either the Baltimore Ravens or the New England Patriots in the wildcard round.
