Johnson Pulls Away During Final Restart For Win At Texas

Last updated on Monday, November 5, 2012

(Fort Worth, TX) - Jimmie Johnson pulled away from Brad Keselowski in a green-white-checkered flag finish to capture Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Johnson finished only .8 seconds in front of his Chase for the Sprint Cup rival and now has a seven point advantage for the title with two races to go.

Keselowski finished second and was followed by Kyle Busch in third and Matt Kenseth, whose fourth place finish bumped him up to fifth in points.

Tony Stewart is already eliminated from title contention but salvaged a fifth place finish on the one and-a-half mile quad oval.

The Sprint Cup Championship is down to two races and moves to Phoenix International Raceway next weekend for the AdvoCare 500.
