Notre Dame Moves Up In Polls After Dismantling Miami

(South Bend, IN) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish gained two spots in the new USA Today college football poll following Saturday’s 41-to-3 dismantling of the Miami Hurricanes.

Notre Dame is ranked 7th and 5-0 heading into Saturday's home contest against number-17 Stanford.

The Alabama Crimson Tide retained their number one ranking with 58 first place votes, and the Oregon Ducks hold down the two spot with one first place vote.

The South Carolina Gamecocks advanced three spots to number-three following their 35-7 route of the Georgia Bulldogs.

The West Virginia Mountaineers and Kansas State Wildcats round out the top-five.
