(Houston, TX) - Alfonso Soriano homered and drove in a pair of runs in the Chicago Cubs’ 5-1 win over the Astros in Houston.
Travis Wood went seven and two-thirds innings, allowing a run on four hits to improve to 6-11.
Wellington Castillo gave Chicago the lead for good with an RBI single in the first.
Soriano hit a solo shot off Houston reliever Chuckie Fick in the fifth and would add a run-scoring single in the seventh.
Rookie Anthony Recker put the Cubs up 4-0 with an RBI double in the eighth before Fernando Martinez got the Astros on the board with a pinch-hit single in the bottom of the eighth.
