Colts Return To Practice Wednesday To Prepare For Season Opener

Last updated on Tuesday, September 4, 2012

(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts players have the day off and will return to the practice field on Wednesday as they get ready for their regular season opener Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

The Colts are coming off a 2-14 season in 2011 as they failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2002.

The Bears went 8-8 last year and also failed to reach the postseason.

Several Colts who missed time during the preseason were back practicing fully on Monday. Wide receiver Austin Collie "looked great" in practice, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.

Collie has not played since suffering a concussion in the Colts' second preseason game at Pittsburgh.

Starting right guard Mike McGlynn, who missed the final three preseason games with a sprained ankle, was back practicing while defensive end Cory Redding, who missed the last two preseason games with a knee sprain, worked out on his own and is expected to participate fully in tomorrow's practice.

Cornerbacks Jarraud Powers and Justin King were also back after missing the Cincinnati game with injuries.

The Colts added two and subtracted one player from the practice squad, signing running back Alvester Alexander and tackle Darrion Weems while releasing safety Latarrius Thomas.
