Tempers Flare As Colts Training Camp Continues

(Anderson, IN) Training camp continues for the Indianapolis Colts at Anderson University today as the preseason opener with the St. Louis Rams is nine days away.

The Horseshoes will have a morning walk-through followed by a full practice in the afternoon. The afternoon practice is open to the public. The Colts returned to the practice field yesterday after taking the day off on Wednesday.

With temperatures in the 90s, tempers flared during Thursday's full-contact workout. Incidents included a scrum between offensive lineman Winston Justice and linebacker Jerry Hughes. Justice wound up ripping off Hughes' helmet and throwing it across the field.

The Colts made a trade on Thursday, sending cornerback Kevin Thomas and a conditional seventh-round draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles.

ndianapolis receives linebackers Moise Fokou and Greg Lloyd. Thomas was a third-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, but missed his entire rookie season after suffering a knee injury during rookie mini-camp.

He played in nine games for the Colts last season. Fokou played collegiately at Maryland and was a seventh-round pick of the Eagles in 2009.

Lloyd is from the University of Connecticut and was selected in the seventh round of the 2011 draft. He spent the first twelve weeks of last season on Philadelphia's practice squad before being promoted.

The Colts placed linebacker AJ Edds on the Waived-Injured list. Edds tore the ACL in his left knee on Sunday.
