New Castle Suffers First Loss In Little League World Series

(South Williamsport, PA) - The New Castle Little League team suffered its first loss in the Little League World Series, falling to the team from San Antonio, Texas 13-3.

Texas jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first before Indiana scored twice in the bottom of the opening frame.

The score remained 3-2 Texas until the top of the fourth when San Antonio erupted for six runs in the inning.

Texas would score twice more in the fifth and the sixth innings with New Castle getting a run back in the bottom of the sixth.

Jordan Cardenas, Zachary Sanchez, Landry Wideman and Carter Elliott driving in two runs apiece for San Antonio as the Texans advance in the winner's bracket to face Goodlettsville, Tennessee on Wednesday night.

Hunter McCubbins drove in two runs for Indiana with Jarred Porter driving home the other run.

New Castle returns to action tonight as they take on the team from Fairfield, Connecticut.
