Last updated on Tuesday, August 7, 2012

(London, England) - It was a good day for some Hoosiers Monday at the Olympics.

In track, Plymouth's Morgan Uceny advanced to Wednesday's semifinals of the women's 1,500 meters.

Uceny finished second in her heat on Monday, turning in a time of four minutes, six-point-97 seconds.

The U-S women's soccer team advanced to the gold medal game with a 4-3 double-overtime victory over Canada.

Megan Rapinoe scored a pair of goals for the United States with Alex Morgan's goal in the final minute of extra time during OT was the difference as the US advances to face Japan for the gold.

Christine Sinclair scored all three goals for the Canadians. Indianapolis native Lauren Chaney and former Notre Dame star Shannon Boxx play for Team USA.

Thursday's championship game at Wembley Stadium will be a rematch of last year's World Cup final. Japan won that game on penalty kicks.

Canada will take on France for the bronze medal.

On today's schedule, Indiana University junior Derek Drouin competes in the finals of the high jump.

Drouin, who competes for Canada, advanced to the finals on Sunday after clearing 2.29 meters.
