(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts will practice again today as they have a short week to prepare for Thursday night's preseason finale with the Cincinnati Bengals at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is still determining how long the starters will play against the Bengals, but the final preseason game is traditionally used as an opportunity for those players on the bubble to showcase their talents on the eve of final cuts.
The Colts are 1-2 in the preseason, winning their opener at home against St. Louis before dropping road games at Pittsburgh and Washington.
The Bengals are 2-1, winning their first two games against the Jets and Atlanta before losing at home to Green Bay last Thursday night.
The Colts got down to the league-mandated roster limit of 75 players on Monday.
They placed three players on the injured reserve list, declaring them out for the season. Nose tackle Brandon McKinney tore an ACL in Saturday's loss to the Redskins while receiver Griff Whalen broke his foot in Washington.
Offensive tackle George Foster never played a down for the Colts before going on IR. Offensive guard Justin Anderson was placed on the physically unable to perform list while rookie nose tackle Josh Chapman is on the reserve / non-football injury list.
Players on the PUP and NFL lists do not count against the team's roster limit and are not eligible to be activated until Week Seven of the regular season at the earliest.
Receiver Austin Collie remains on the active roster. Pagano says Collie could be ready for the September ninth regular season opener in Chicago.
Collie suffered his third concussion in less than two years in the loss at Pittsburgh two weeks ago.
