Last updated on Monday, August 13, 2012

(Watkins Glen, NY) - Marcos Ambrose passed Brad Keselowski on the final lap to get the win at NASCAR’s Finger Lakes 355 at Watkins Glen.

Kyle Busch and Keselowski dominated the race, leading 80 of the 90 laps. Busch passed Keselowski on the final lap but spun right after making the move.

Ambrose and Keselowski battled on the oil-slick track with Ambrose bumping and passing Keselowski and holding him off on the final turn to win at Watkins Glen for the second-straight year.

Jimmie Johnson was third with Clint Bowyer and Sam Hornish Junior rounding out the top five.

Dale Earnhardt Junior, who held the points lead entering the weekend, finished 28th and dropped down to fourth in the standings. Johnson moved up three places to take over the points lead by one over Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth.

Earnhardt is now 15 points behind. In the battle for the two wild card spots with the Chase for the Sprint Cup now four races away, Kasey Kahne maintains his grip on the first spot.

Ryan Newman now holds down the second wild card berth, but Kyle Busch is just six points back and Jeff Gordon is ten points behind.

Newman, Busch and Gordon have each won one race this season with the points standings being the tiebreaker in the race for the wild card.
