Hunter-Reay Continues Winning Streak At Toronto

Last updated on Monday, July 9, 2012

(Toronto, ON) - Ryan Hunter-Reay made it three wins in a row as he was the victor at Sunday’s IZOD IndyCar Series race through the streets of Toronto.

Hunter-Reay led 36 of the final 37 laps to pick up his eighth career victory. His first two wins during his current streak came on ovals at Milwaukee and Iowa.

Charlie Kimball was second with Mike Conway, Tony Kanaan and Oriol Servia rounding out the top five.

Will Power entered the weekend as the points leader by three over Hunter-Reay. Power finished a lap down in 15th place and now trails Hunter-Reay by 34 points heading to the July 22nd race at Edmonton. Helio Castroneves finished sixth and maintains third place in points.

It was a rough day for Scott Dixon, who despite finishing last remains fourth in points, 54 behind Hunter-Reay. Dixon's Honda engine expired on Lap 7. He has already gone through his season allotment of five fresh engines and will face a ten-spot grid penalty at Edmonton.
