Pacers Looking For Solid Draft Pick

Last updated on Tuesday, June 19, 2012

(Indianapolis, IN) - The pre-draft workouts continue this morning at Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the Indiana Pacers evaluate players.

Monday's workouts had a decidedly Hoosier flavor with locals Alex Young from IUPUI and Brownsburg native Julian Mavunga among the six participants. Xavier's Tu Holloway was scheduled to work out yesterday but was replaced by Louisville swingman Kyle Kuric.

Today's lineup includes Ball State forward Jarrod Jones and Duke's Miles Plumlee, a native of Warsaw, Indiana. Also working out this morning are former Syracuse star Fab Melo, Dayton's Chris Johnson, Kyle O'Quinn of Norfolk State and Houston's Jonathon Simmons.

The Pacers have only one pick in next Thursday night's draft - number 26 overall. They traded their second-round pick to acquire Leandro Barbosa in March.

The Pacers are not only looking at players who might fall to them at number 26 in these workouts but are also scanning for players they might want to trade for as well as potential free-agent signees who are passed over in the draft.
