(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Pacers will head to South Florida for Game One of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series with the Miami Heat.
The series opener is scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Coverage on 1340 AM WBIW begins at 3pm.
The Pacers advanced to Round Two with a 105-87 win over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night to win that best-of-seven series four games to one. The Heat eliminated the New York Knicks in Round One, advancing with a 106-94 win in Game Five on Wednesday night. Miami took three of four from the Pacers during the regular season.
The Heat are led by the trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. James has averaged 27.8 points per game in the playoffs with Wade scoring at a 21-points per game clip and Bosh chipping in with 15 points per game.
Danny Granger led Indiana in the series with the Magic, scoring 21.4 points per game. David West, George Hill and Roy Hibbert also averaged double-figure points in Round One with Hibbert averaging a double-double of eleven points and 10.8 rebounds against Orlando.
Pacers Coach Frank Vogel spent Thursday's practice planting a few seeds in preparing for their series with the Heat. Vogel emphasized to his team that Miami likes to draw charges on defense and also made that point after practice to the media.
Vogel says it will be interesting to see how the referees officiate the series, particularly how much of Miami's "flopping" they will reward. He pointed out that Heat defenders are often falling down before contact is made.
