Pacers Tie Up Series With Orlando

Last updated on Tuesday, May 1, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - David West, Danny Granger and George Hill scored 18 points apiece as the Indiana Pacers beat the Orlando Magic 93-78 to tie their best-of-seven opening-round Eastern Conference playoff series at a game apiece.

West added eleven rebounds with Roy Hibbert grabbing 13 boards as the Pacers won the battle of the glass, out rebounding the Magic 46-38.

The Pacers jumped out to an eleven point lead, but as was the case in Game One, Orlando would come back in the second quarter, leading by as many as five points in taking a 44-42 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The key to the win for Indiana was a big third quarter. The blue-and-gold outscored the Magic 30-13 in the period. The Pacers regained the lead for good when Hill hit a floater with 7:38 left in the third to put Indiana up 54-52. Later in the third, the Pacers went on a 14-0 run to take a 70-55 lead. They would lead by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter as Orlando did not get within double digits for the rest of the game.

Glen Davis led the Magic with 18 points and ten rebounds.

The series shifts to Orlando for games three and four. Game Three is Wednesday night.
