NFL Draft Begins Tonight, Colts To Select Luck

Last updated on Thursday, April 26, 2012

(Indianapolis, IN) - The Andrew Luck era for the Indianapolis Colts officially begins tonight when the Colts select the Stanford quarterback with the number one overall pick at tonight’s NFL Draft.

Colts general manager Ryan Grigson confirmed on Tuesday that Luck will be the choice at number one over Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin the third.

Grigson confirmed several reports from last week that the team has informed Luck of the decision.

The first round of the draft takes place tonight at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Rounds two and three will be held tomorrow night with the draft concluding on Saturday with rounds four through seven.

Barring trades, the Colts will have ten picks over the seven rounds.

The large number of picks should come in handy as the Horseshoes rebuild following last season's 2-and-14 campaign.

Among the players lost off last year's roster are long-time contributors Peyton Manning, Joseph Addai, Dallas Clark, Jacob Tamme, Pierre Garcon, Jeff Saturday, Ryan Diem, Gary Brackett, Philip Wheeler and Melvin Bullitt.
