Last updated on Wednesday, April 25, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Michel Jourdain Junior will return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway next month after landing a ride with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Jourdain competed in the 500 as a 19-year-old in 1996, starting eighth and finishing 13th. He has not driven at the Speedway since. He made 152 starts in the old CART / Champ Car World Series and has three career starts in IndyCar including the 1996 '500'.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan is fielding a car for Takuma Sato for the entire 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series schedule.

Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing announced the return of Dollar General as its car's primary sponsor for the Indianapolis 500. Dollar General sponsored cars driven by team owner Sarah Fisher and was on board last season when Ed Carpenter claimed the team's first IndyCar Series victory at Kentucky Speedway. Dollar General left as a full-season sponsor at the end of last year.

Rookie Josef Newgarden is the driver of the number-67 Sarah Fisher Hartman car. Newgarden is one of 26 drivers entered for this Sunday's IndyCar Series race in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
