(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis Colts announced a pair of free agent signings on Tuesday, signing tight end Kyle Miller and long snapper Matt Overton.
Miller was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars last season as an undrafted free agent out of Mount Union, but was released before the start of the regular season. He is 6-foot-5, 257 pounds and provides depth at a position where Indianapolis has lost Jacob Tamme to free agency and released Dallas Clark.
Overton was on the Seattle Seahawks roster twice, in 2007 and 2010, but has never played an NFL game. He has played arena football and in the United Football League. Overton is 6-foot-1, 254 pounds and is expected to compete with incumbent long snapper Justin Snow.
The Colts also announced that David Thornton has rejoined the team as player development coordinator. Thornton was a linebacker for the Horseshoes from 2002 through 2005 and spent the final four seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans.
There is activity at the Colts' team headquarters this week as the first of three weeks of offseason workouts got underway on Monday.
