Sycamores Pick Up Win In First Round Of Missouri Valley Tournament

(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The Indiana State Sycamores opened defense of their Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship with a 66-51 victory over Southern Illinois.

Jake Odum led the Sycamores with 17 points with Dwayne Lathan scoring 15 points and Myles Walker adding twelve.

Mamadou Seck led the Salukis with 14 points and eleven rebounds as Southern Illinois finishes its season at 8-23. Indiana State improves to 18-13.

The Sycamores will face top-seeded Wichita State in the quarterfinals this afternoon in St. Louis.
