(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Speculation regarding the future of Butler men's basketball coach Brad Stevens prompted the coach to release a statement on Sunday night.
In the statement, which was released through the university, Stevens says he is happy and extremely grateful to be the head coach at Butler. He goes on to say that he is already looking forward to next season and to the start of postseason workouts next month.
Stevens has been mentioned as a candidate for the Illinois job since Bruce Weber was fired earlier this month. Another name that has come up for the Illinois job is Ohio University head coach John Groce - a former Butler assistant.
