(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Purdue senior basketball player Ryne Smith is headed to New Orleans for this weekend's Final Four festivities.

Smith will compete in the Hampton Hotels Men's Three-Point Championships on Thursday night at Tulane University's Fogelman Arena. The event will be nationally televised by ESPN.

Smith shot 43 percent from beyond the arc this season and his total of 89 three-pointers was second in the Big Ten to Northwestern's John Shurna.

Shurna will be one of Smith's competitors along with Missouri's Marcus Denmon, High Point's Nick Barbour, UNLV's Chace Stanback and Marquette's Darius Johnson-Odom.
