(WASHINGTON, DC) - The Indiana Pacers play the first of three games in three nights this evening when they face the Washington Wizards in the nation’s capital.
The Pacers are coming off a 102-89 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday night that moved the Blue-and-Gold to 26-and-18 on the season.
For the Wizards, tonight's game is the second of a back-to-back. Washington is 11-and-34 and has lost five of its last seven despite last night's 108-89 victory over the New Jersey Nets in Newark.
Tonight's game is the first of three meetings between the Pacers and the Wizards this season.
Foster Announces Future Retirement
Pacers center Jeff Foster announced his retirement on Wednesday.
A statement released by the team cited chronic back problems as the primary reason the 35-year-old veteran of 13 NBA seasons has decided to end his playing career. The back limited Foster to play in just eleven of the Pacers' 44 games this season.
He averaged five points and seven rebounds per game in his career.
Foster was drafted by the Golden State Warriors out of Texas State in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft and acquired by Indiana in a Draft-night trade for Vonteego Cummings and a future first-round pick.
Foster was noted for his ability to get under the skin of his opponents with his aggressive, tenacious style of play.
He will hold a formal news conference before Monday's game with the Miami Heat.
