Hoosiers, Boilers Fall In Big Ten Tournament

Last updated on Saturday, March 10, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - In the Big Ten tournament quarterfinals yesterday, the Indiana Hoosiers were eliminated by the Wisconsin Badgers, 79-to-71.

The Badgers made 13, three-pointers against Indiana, who was shorthanded after losing senior Verdell Jones the third to an ACL tear. Jordon hulls, Christian Watford, and Cody Zeller all scored 17 points for the Hoosiers.

Indiana's 25-and-8 overall record is strong enough for an invitation to the NCAA tournament. Seeding is announced tomorrow night.

Boilermakers Fall To Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes pulled away to knock-out the Purdue Boilermakers, 88-to-71.

Purdue trailed by four at the half, but the buckeyes used an 8-to-nothing run to open an eleven point advantage.

Ohio State's Jared Sullinger led all scorers with 30 points. DJ Byrd had 20 points for the Boilermakers.

Purdue's 21-and-12 overall record should be good enough to earn an invitation to the NCAA tournament.
