Fighting Irish Advance In Women's NCAA Tourney

(UNDATED) - In College Basketball, Notre Dame advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Women’s Tournament with a 73-62 victory over California at Purcell Pavilion.

Natalie Novasel led the top-seeded Fighting Irish with 28 points with Skylar Diggins adding 21 and Devereaux Peters finishing with eleven points, 14 rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Layshia Clarendon led the eight-seeded Golden Bears with 17 points with Reshanda Gray adding 15 as Cal ends its season at 25-and-10.

Notre Dame will get number-five seed St. Bonaventure in Sunday's Raleigh Regional semifinal. The Bonnies edged Marist 66-63 last night to advance.
