Colts' Stanton Preparing For New Job

Last updated on Wednesday, March 28, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - One thing that is certain regarding the quarterback situation for the Colts is that Drew Stanton will help mentor the top pick.

The former Detroit Lions QB spent a week in New York before the Jets acquired Tim Tebow in the aftermath of the Denver Broncos' signing of Peyton Manning.

Stanton talked to the Indianapolis media via a conference call on Tuesday and says he will approach his new job by preparing as if he is the starting quarterback until something changes.

The Michigan State product has served as the backup to Matthew Stafford in Detroit. Stafford was the number one overall pick in the 2009 draft.
