Colts Part Ways With Fan Favorites

Last updated on Saturday, March 10, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts parted ways with five more players yesterday, including Pro-Bowl tight end Dallas Clark, defensive captain Gary Brackett, running back Joseph Addai, safety Melvin Bullitt, and quarterback Curtis Painter.

General Manager Ryan Grigson said in a conference call last night that the cuts were entirely business related and difficult to make.

Colts Owner Jim Irsay said in a written statement that all five players made tremendous contributions to the team, and will always be part of the Colts family.

The changes indicate that Indianapolis is starting over completely following the release of Peyton Manning earlier in the week. Manning and Irsay made the announcement in a joint press conference on Wednesday.

The four-time MVP visited the Denver Broncos yesterday and met with John Elway and coach John Fox. He's also expected to visit Arizona during his trip out west.

Sources say Manning would like to settle on a new team by Tuesday of next week.
