Smith And Johnson Lead Hawks Past Pacers

(ATLANTA, GA) - The Atlanta Hawks snapped a three-game skid with a 97-87 win over the indiana Pacers.

Josh Smith led the Hawks with 28 points and twelve rebounds with Joe Johnson adding 20 points.

Danny Granger scored a team-high 21 points for Indiana, but hit just five of his 17 attempts from the field.

David West and Tyler Hansbrough scored 15 points apiece for the Pacers with Roy Hibbert contributing a double-double of ten points and 13 rebounds.

The Pacers fall to 17-8 heading to a game with the Grizzlies Friday night in Memphis. Pacers guard Paul George will participate in the rising stars challenge during All-Star Weekend in Orlando.

In the past, the game has pitted the rookies against the second-year players.

This year, the teams will be a mix of rookies and sophomores.

George participated in last year's game as a rookie.

Among the other sophomores participating are last season's rookie of the year Blake Griffin, former University of Kentucky Stars John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins and former Butler standout Gordon Hayward.

Kyrie Irving and Ricky Rubio are among the rookies participating in the February 24th game.
