(HARTFORD, CT) - Notre Dame won its first outright Big East Regular Season Championship in women's basketball with a 72-59 victory over number-four Connecticut in Hartford.

Natalie Novasel led the Fighting Irish with 21 points with Skylar Diggins finishing with 20 points as Notre Dame improves to 28-2, 15-1 in the conference.

Tiffany Hayes led UConn with 22 points as the Huskies drop to 26-4, 13-3 in Big East play.

It was the second-straight home loss for Connecticut, the first time the Huskies have lost back-to-back home games in 19 years.
