Crusaders Knock Off Vikings To Claim First Place In Horizon League

(CLEVELAND, OH) - Valparaiso took over sole possession of first place in the Horizon League with a 59-41 victory over the Cleveland State Vikings in Cleveland.

Ryan Broekhoff and Richie Edwards did most of the damage for Valpo.

Broekhoff finished with 24 points and ten rebounds with Edwards adding 20 points off the bench as the Crusaders won their fourth game in a row.

Jeremy Montgomery was the lone Viking to reach double figures, scoring 15 points as Cleveland State had a five-game winning streak snapped.

The Vikings fall to 20-5, 10-3 in the Horizon League.

Valparaiso improves to 18-8, 11-3 in the conference.

The Crusaders are at Youngstown State on Saturday.
