(SACRAMENTO, CA) - The Indiana Pacers could not hold onto a 14-point lead at the end of three quarters and dropped the opener of their west coast trip 92-88 to the Kings in Sacramento.
The Pacers led by as many as 16 in the third, but were killed by 3-16 shooting in the fourth quarter, including 0-6 from three-point range.
Sacramento also made up a lot of ground in the final period from the free throw line, outscoring Indiana 12-2 from the line in the quarter.
Marcus Thornton led the Kings with 17 points with Francisco Garcia scoring 16 off the bench and DeMarcus Cousins contributing 13 points and 19 rebounds, twelve on the offensive glass.
All five Indiana starters reached double figures with danny granger and darren collison leading the way with 16 points each.
The Pacers' three-game winning streak is over as the Blue and Gold drop to 9-4 on the season.
Game two of the western trip is Friday night in Oakland as the Pacers face the Golden State Warriors.
