(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A decision on a new head coach for the Indianapolis Colts is expected sometime this week.

According to published reports, the Colts have already talked to former Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel, new Orleans Saints Offensive Coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. and Tennessee Titans Defensive Coordinator Jerry Gray.

Other candidates are believed to include Cincinnati Bengals Defensive Coordinator Mike Zimmer and former Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress.

Tressel would be a controversial choice. In ten years at Ohio State, he went 106-22 and led the Buckeyes to one National Championship in 2002.

He resigned last may amid a scandal that resulted in NCAA sanctions and a five-year "show cause" penalty for Tressel.

He joined the Colts this past season as a consultant to Head Coach Jim Caldwell.

The Horseshoes are looking for a replacement for Caldwell, who was fired last Tuesday after a 2-14 season.
