Colts Remain Winless As Comeback Rally Falls Short

Last updated on Monday, December 5, 2011

(FOXBOROUGH, MA) - The Indianapolis Colts fell to 0-12 with their 31-24 loss to the New England Patriots in Foxborough.

The Patriots built a 31-3 lead behind quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Brady completed 29 of 38 passes for 293 yards and two touchdown passes to Gronkowski.

Gronkowski also scored a rushing touchdown on a lateral.

Colts quarterback Dan Orlovsky and wide receiver Pierre Garcon keyed the comeback, connecting on a pair of TD passes with Donald Brown getting a third score on the ground as the Colts got to within a touchdown late.

Orlovsky's debut as the Colts' starting quarterback was successful everywhere except for the final score.

The seven-year veteran out of Connecticut completed 30-of-37 passes for a career-high 353 yards.

Orlovsky led the Colts on a ten-play, 67-yard drive in the first quarter that led to an Adam Vinatieri field goal early in the second.

He followed that up with scoring drives of 86, 93 and 90 yards in the fourth quarter that gave the Colts a chance at the end.

Garcon set career-highs for receptions with nine and receiving yards with 150 while Austin Collie recorded a season-best seven catches for 70 yards.

New England recovered a pair of onside kicks late to preserve the victory and improve to 9-3.

The Colts face the ravens next Sunday afternoon in Baltimore.
