Sandusky Claims Innocence During Phone Interview

Last updated on Tuesday, November 15, 2011

(NEW YORK, NY) - Jerry Sandsuky says he’s innocent of charges that he molested several boys during his tenure as assistant coach at Penn State University.

Sandusky proclaimed his innocence during a phone interview broadcasted on NBC last night.

The 67-year-old Sandusky responded "no" when asked if he was pedophile, but did admit to "horsing around" in the shower and touching kids in a non-sexual way.

Sandusky faces forty counts of various degrees of sexual battery to a child.

Since his arrest over a week ago, Head Coach Joe Paterno, University President Graham Spanier, Athletic Director Tim Curley, and VP of Finance Gary Schultz have all been fired or quit.

The assistant coach who allegedly witnessed one of the incidents, Mike McQueary, has been placed on administrative leave.

Schultz and Curley were arrested for failing to report the incident witnessed by McQueary and have also been charged with perjury.
