Painter To Start For Colts This Sunday

Last updated on Thursday, November 24, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Curtis Painter will get the start at quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts Sunday when they host the Carolina Panthers.

Painter has started the last seven games since Kerry Collins went down with a season-ending concussion.

The Colts are 0-and-10 overall. Painter has been particularly ineffective in the past two losses, throwing for less than 100 yards before being removed in favor of backup Dan Orlovsky. Orlovsky is also 0-and-7 as a starter in his NFL career.

The horseshoes have totaled just 27 points in the past four games.

The Colts may have some of their injured players back this Sunday, but tight end Dallas Clark won't be one of them. Clark is listed alongside Peyton Manning in the "out" column of Wednesday's injury report. Clark suffered a lower leg injury against Atlanta on November 6th and missed the November 13th loss to Jacksonville.

Defensive tackle Drake Nevis and offensive guard Joe Reitz also missed practice yesterday due to injury.

Tight end Brodie Eldridge and receiver Anthony Gonzalez were limited in their participation in Wednesday's practice due to injury while Joseph Addai was back to full participation yesterday. Addai has played briefly in one of the Colts' past five games due to a hamstring injury.
