(UNDATED) - The Izod IndyCar series will race in China in 2012.
The race will be held on a 3.87-mile street course in Qingdao, a city on the Yellow Sea that is between Beijing and Shanghai.
Qingdao hosted the Olympic sailing competition in 2008.
The inaugural race is scheduled for Sunday, August 19th.
It is the fourth international event on the tentative 2012 IndyCar schedule, joining Sao Paulo, Brazil and two Canadian events in Toronto and Edmonton.
The remainder of the 2012 Indycar Series schedule will be announced soon.
