Fighting Irish Rally Back To Survive Scare From Detroit

(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Detroit showed up at the Joyce Center and gave Notre Dame all they could handle, but the Fighting Irish held on to win 59-to-53.

Notre Dame had four players score in double digits, including Eric Atkins and Joey Brooks who each netted 13 points.

Detroit had a six point lead in the second half until their shooting went cold.

Notre Dame was able to capitalize and pull ahead 47-41 and maintain the lead until the final buzzer.

The Fighting Irish defense held Detroit to 29 percent shooting while Notre Dame made 37 percent of their shots from the field.

Notre Dame will host the Sam Houston State Bearkats Wednesday night.
