NBA Labor Talks Continue, Some Progress Reported

Last updated on Thursday, October 27, 2011

(NEW YORK, NY) - The NBA and its players association met in another marathon negotiating session Wednesday in New York.

The meeting went past three o'clock eastern time this morning as the two sides reported some progress on the issues.

They will meet again this afternoon.

Players Association Executive Director Billy Hunter says that Wednesday's meetings did not address the main sticking point in negotiations, the split of basketball-related income.

Hunter did say that if a deal can be achieved by early next week, it will still be possible to play an 82-game season.

Commissioner David Stern classified the day of negotiations as "solid" and says talks will turn toward the revenue split when they have agreed on the rest of the system.
