(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts fell to 0-3 after losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers last night, 23-20.
The Colts gave the Steelers all they could handle, including an inspirational defensive effort and a final touchdown drive by backup quarterback Curtis Painter.
Quarterback Kerry Collins finished with 93 yards on 13-of-29 passing.
He will be evaluated today after being knocked out of the game with a concussion.
If Collins is unable to play against the buccaneers Monday night, Curtis Painter will step in as starting quarterback for the Colts.
Painter finished with 60 yards on 5-of-11 passing.
He had a fumble returned for a touchdown but also led the Colts on their game tying, fourth quarter drive. Ben Rothlisberger finished with 364 yards on 25-of-37 passing for the Steelers.
He also threw for a touchdown and an interception towards the end of the first half.
The Colts defense created three turnovers and held the imposing Steelers running game to 67 yards on a humble 2.4 average.
Dwight Freeney had two sacks and two forced fumbles.
The Colts will try for their first win at Tampa next Monday night.
