Indians And White Sox Split Double Header In Cleveland

(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox split a doubleheader with the Indians taking the opener 4-3 and the Sox winning the nightcap 5-4.

The Indians used three home runs to win game one.

Travis Hafner hit a two-run shot in the first, Asdrubal Cabrera hammered a go-ahead solo shot in the fourth and Kosuke Fukudome's solo blast in the fifth provided what would be the eventual winning run.

Cleveland jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game two, but the White Sox chipped away.

Alejandro De Aza's two-run double in the sixth brought Chicago to within a run.

In the seventh, Juan Pierre tied the game with an RBI groundout and Alexei Ramirez' single to center drove home Gordon Beckham with the go-ahead run.
