Colts Preparing For Home Opener Against Cleveland

Last updated on Tuesday, September 13, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts players have today off before returning to practice on Wednesday.

The Colts are 0-1 following last Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Texans in Houston.

They face the Cleveland Browns this Sunday in the home opener at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Browns are also 0-1, falling to division rival Cincinnati 27-17 last Sunday.

Colts Head Coach Jim Caldwell met with the media on Monday to go over the loss to the Texans.

The Colts trailed 34-0 at halftime, the largest halftime deficit in the history of the franchise, as the offense, defense and special teams all played poorly in the first half.

The theme among Caldwell and the players after the game and on Monday was that it was just one of 16 games.

Quarterback Kerry Collins looked better in the second half as he tries to master a complex offense that he has been studying for just under three weeks.

Caldwell had no updates on injured players coming off Sunday's loss in Houston.

Linebackers Gary Brackett and Ernie Sims left Sunday's game early.

Brackett suffered a shoulder injury when he was tackled after picking off a Matt Schaub pass in the fourth quarter.

Sims left the game after suffering a knee injury on a special teams play in the second quarter. Neither player returned to the contest after being injured.

The Colts made a roster move on Monday, claiming offensive lineman Seth Olsen off waivers from Minnesota.

To make room for Olsen, they waived veteran guard Jamey Richard.
