Castro Powers Cubs Past Reds In Slug Fest

(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Chicago Cubs outslugged the Cincinnati Reds 12-8 in a game that featured seven home runs.

Starlin Castro hit a two-run shot and drove in three with Aramis Ramirez and Jeff Baker hammering solo shots.

Alfonso Soriano did not go deep but drove in three runs for the Cubs, who have won three in a row.

Brandon Phillips hit a pair of homers and drove in three with rookies Juan Francisco and Devin Mesoraco adding solo blasts.

For Mesoraco, it was his first major league home run.

Rodrigo Lopez pitched into the sixth inning, allowing five earned runs in picking up his fifth win against six losses.

Reds starter Dontrelle Willis was pounded for eight earned runs over three and-a-third innings as he drops to 0-6.
