(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals head to Philadelphia today where they will face the Phillies Saturday in game one of their best-of-five National League Division Series.
The Cardinals clinched a berth in the playoffs as a Wild Card thanks to their Wednesday night win in Houston combined with Atlanta's loss at home to the Phillies.
The Redbirds trailed the Braves by ten and-a-half games on August 25th but closed by winning 25 of their final 31 games.
The Phillies own the best record in the major leagues and were the only team to record more than 100 victories in 2011.
Roy Halladay is scheduled to start game one for the Phillies with St. Louis sending Kyle Lohse to the hill.
Halladay went 19-6 during the regular season and would like a repeat of his performance in game one of the NLDS last season when he threw a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds.
Lohse went 14-8 during the regular season.
