(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Detroit Tigers salvaged a win in Cleveland, defeating the Indians 4-3 to snap a three-game losing streak.

Detroit jumped out to the early lead when Magglio Ordonez hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the first.

The Tigers scored three runs in the second with Alex Avila and Wilson Betimit hitting RBI singles and Austin Jackson bringing home a run on a suicide squeeze bunt.

Cleveland scored once in the second inning on Carlos Santana's 18th home run of the season.

Asdrubal Cabrera's two-run double in the third brought the Indians to within a run, but that would be all they would get off Tigers starter Justin Verlander.

Verlander went seven innings, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out ten to improve to 17-and-5.

Fausto Carmona took the loss for Cleveland, falling to 5-12 as the Indians drop three games behind Detroit in the AL Central.
