Seven Players Miss Practice As Colts End Training Camp

Last updated on Friday, August 19, 2011

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Training Camp in Anderson is over and the Indianapolis Colts are home to face the Washington Redskins in a preseason game tonight at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts are 0-1 after losing to the Rams 33-10 last Saturday night in St. Louis.

The Redskins are 1-0 and are coming off a 16-7 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in their opener last week.

Peyton Manning has yet to take a snap in training camp and Colts coach Jim Caldwell will use Curtis Painter longer tonight against Washington.

Painter and veteran Dan Orlovsky are competing for the job as Manning's backup. Colts camp ended with seven players missing the final practice.

Three wide receivers; Austin Collie, Anthony Gonzalez and Reggie Wayne were out.

Collie and Gonzalez have nursed injuries for much of the week while Wayne has been absent due to a personal matter.

Linebacker Ernie Sims has not participated since having an appendectomy on August 7th.

Two of the team's free agent signees on the defensive line, Jamaal Anderson and Tommie Harris, have been out most of the week as has defensive back Al Afalava.
